[DGD]Compiling DGD with VC 6.0

I'm trying to compile DGD 1.1.108 with Visual C++ version 6.0 --
with no success. I get the error:

LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "nafxcwd.lib"
Error executing link.exe.

I examined the M$-site and found out that the lib nafxcwd.lib
has been removed from the newer version of VC. So is there
a way I could compile it on windows?

I tried the cygwin too but with it, DGD gives me the error

gethostbyname: Not owner.
