[DGD]compiling

Trying to compile DGD 1.2 (not 1.2.9) on a Compaq Tru64 UNIX, I get a
fairly long ways through the make, then get:

   mips-tfile, /tmp/ccXry8aD.s:7 Segmentation fault
   line:           .file   1 "debug.c"

   *** Exit 1
   Stop.
   *** Exit 1
   Stop.

Any hints? I'm sure I have something set wrong, but was not
able to find any instructions for setting options at compile
time.
