Sorry for insisting on that posting.  It helps me a lot to see the
actual code.

You were right, again.  There is a memory leak, though you are using the
macros in the intended way.  I am going to mull this over for a bit, to
see if I want to change the interface, or fix it as it is.

Expect a patch during the weekend.
