[DGD] Hooks

I read somewhere that drivers supports something called hooks, which 
should let me do 'event-handling' which, in turn, would solve several 
expansion problems.

I tried to find documentation about these hooks but didn't find any, I 
didn't find any examples how to use them either. Am I chasing shadows or 
does the driver support these hooks (or similar behaviour), if so, could 
someone please tell me how?
