Persistence can be either a boon or a bane. As with most things in life it
is what you make of it.

The best way to appreciate the differeneces/simularities is to tinker in
both worlds. An easy (heh) way of getting a feel for a persistent world is
to fire up something like a Muck (Fuzzball is a good choice if Forth
doesn't give you a headache).
