[DGD] Persistence Explanation

For those who remember the discussion of persistence with Robert
Forshaw recently: I believe that I've written up a coherent summary of
persistence and what it means in the sense we use it on this mailing
list. If anybody's got time to read a bit, check out
"http://phantasmal.sf.net/DGD/LibWriting/Persistence.html". Not
shockingly, the explanation references several other pages, such as
those on swapping and statedumps. Critique those as well if you like.
The one on persistence's effects on game design is probably the most
relevant to that discussion.

My goal is to explain persistence in such a way that the next fellow,
rather than starting where Robert did, will start where Robert was
after that discussion. My secondary goal is that when SkotOS 2.0 comes
out and people ask, "so why is this so weirdly arranged?", we'll have
an explanation of what benefits come with the Kernel Library.
