um...I only know ssh is an encrypted connection method.  Nothing more,
and as far as scp...well, I've never even heard of it.

If you know of any RFCs regarding SSH, I'd be happy to see them.

Thanks though, I'll check the manpage for hostname.  I'm writing an
RFC 959 compliant FTP server...for access both for guest browsers AND
wizzes doing file work.
