Ok, after putting dworkin's klib repo on my watch list I noticed that
dworkin already updated the kernel library for hotboot, and actually
did it correctly.

So I reverted my own changes and went with his.

I also merged Neil McBride's empty directory works that went through
dworkin's repo.

Hopefully next time, if any, dworkin updates things I won't be asleep
at the wheel.
