It will probably not remain a mud server.  For details, check the
previous "curious" discussion from almost exactly 4 years ago.

Codewise, DGD is migrating to C++ to make adding unit tests easier.

After 20 years of people asking me when DGD was going to become
multi-threaded, there is now renewed interest in event-driven
frameworks.  There may still be a role for DGD to play.
