I just want to say that while this is a significant group, and one whose
numbers have been growing by leaps and bounds, there really ARE some
people who have been honestly victimised. To trivialise the experiences
of those honest victims is just as ludicrous and reprehensible as
treating the self-made victim like some sort of martyr.

The culture of victimhood has become ridiculous. I agree one hundred
percent. But that doesn't mean we should instantly hold anyone who
claims to have been victimised in instant contempt. Some of them are
right, and to deny that merely reinforces one of their deepest fears:
that no one will believe them.

There's a story about a boy who cried wolf. But if someone *else* had
cried wolf, why wouldn't you have believed it?

You see me now, a veteran of a thousand psychic wars. I've been
living on the edge so long, where the winds of limbo roar. And
I'm young enough to get involved, too old to see, all the scars
are on the inside; I'm not sure that there's anything left of me
