Cool.  At least you have a vague idea of what I'm on about. :)  It seems
to me that for the majority of traditional game muds, the vast majority of
the time is filled with quite mundane things like moving around and baking
bread.  Possibly killing things with a client (bad game design there but
won't delve into it).  I figured it would be an idea to only notify the
player when something of interest happens.  However, it might lead to a
silly situation where the characters go from crisis to crisis each hour. 

PS: On a whim, started porting xconq to the Amiga so... hibernating for a
bit (like half a year).  Will be posting occassional things.
