I think human nature has changed dramatically over the past 5000 years.  
Although it's certainly easy to write about some of the aspects that 
haven't changed.  I think the lens of history tends to distort our 
perception of the past more towards that which is the same as the 
present.  But that's getting kinda off topic for the list, unless I get 
into the implications of human nature and the changes thereof over time 
to the design of MUDs, which sounds like it would be an awful lot of work 
to try to write something about.  Make a good assignment for some college 
course, though.  :X)
