The problem with 'sound' speech (rather than text) is that it takes a fairly
long time to say something, and I doubt it could handle two or more people
talking at the same time...could it?

Perhaps you'd need both 'say' and 'interrupt'?  This would make socialising
more of a one-on-one thing rather than the usual groups of people who seem
to gather together in muds to talk (and global channels would be out of
the question unless they used text).

Having said that, proper speech on a graphical mud is IMO far better than
text coming up on the screen.
