This happened to me on a ROM once (twice actually).  Playing a fighter
type, low level, no recall capability.  Wandering around seeing what
was where and I ended up in a romm with no exit.  No way out.  No way
to get killed either.  Only way out is to wait until a friendly god
logs on and ask them to transport you out.  Not good.  Gods aren't meant
to be operating a search and rescue service and it really spoils the
sense of immersion.
