On 05:47 PM 6/4/99 -0500, I personally witnessed Greg Miller jumping up to say:

Amen to that. :)
>What I'm getting at is that you seem to be more interested in getting us

Well, to come to Mike's defense on this one: if everyone's here to be
improved, then how do we improve? SOMEONE has to be here to "show you how
it's done". ;)
Or to put it a little more diplomatically, sure, we're all here to learn
from each other. But we can't be afraid to teach, either. Mike thinks he's
got this right. Maybe he does. If he doesn't, then we should peer-review
his material and correct his mistakes. If he does, then we should grab some
of his ideas and use them to make ours better.
Besides, can't we let him be proud anyway? Developing MUDs is a long
process. You spend a lot of time getting "almost there", and then you stay
"almost there" for even *longer*. Well, damn, Mike thinks that in at least
*one* respect, he's there! He's done something great, he's proud of
himself, and dammit all of us *ought* to realise that he SHOULD be. Give
him some payoff here, for God's sake, he's certainly spent enough time
paying his dues. Should he stop working? No! Of course not! But we can
certainly do more than sit here like a bunch of old curmudgeons and go "oh,
you just want to puff out your chest". Hell yeah, he wants to puff out his
chest! Take a look, he's done some good stuff here. Why not give him his
day? If it was *your* day, wouldn't *you* want it?
