After five long years of memory leaks, database corruption, and endless
suggestions from beta players, ScryMUD is officially open to the public.

Theme:

This is the realm of a post apocolyptic earth. Magic has resurfaced, but that
was long ago. The Apocolypse almost destroyed Humans, but they survived,
and changed, and new peoples appeared on the earth. The graceful elves
of the woodlands, the stone dwelling dwarves, the solitary, nature
loving anitre, the strong, if dim, ogrue, and the impish darklings.
As is their nature, the new and ancient peoples divided up
the land, peacefully at times, bloody at others...

Technical:
ScryMUD has a full feature set, including persistant belongings, a
tree-based skill/spell system, game-navigated vehicles, complex
scripting, player-owned stores and homes, and much more. ScryMUD also
has a custom Java client, called Hegemon, that uses special markup
tags to give a nicer interface than raw telnet. Of course, telnet
is supported too, including color. ScryMUD and Hegemon's source code
is released under the GPL. ScryMUD's database at scry.wanfear.com
has over 40 unique zones, 3000 rooms, 500 objects and 500 critters.
This world was written from scratch, as was the server and client code.

Please join us at scry.wanfear.com, port 4444 and check out the web
page at: http://scry.wanfear.com

Thanks for your time,
Ben Greear & and esteemed staff of ScryMUD
