People interested in level-less "skill-based" systems might find it
useful to look at the "Alternate Realities" system which is documented

then follow the "The PRG Online" link.

The documentation is lengthy, and the discussion of the underlying
mathematics and modeling will likely turn off a lot of people, but the
system is actually easy to use for a MUD.
