Anyone here been following their large-scale events? They have the
technology to basically completely alte their map on the fly, which they are
using to bring winter to the entire world, or meteorites making massive
craters in towns, etc, on a monthly basis.

Kazola's tavern. There was also the city of Oasis. Two different incidents
conflated in your mind, I suspect.
