Latency is no problem at all; in fact, I can't tell it apart from a T-1
except for the bandwidth cap.
The only problem I run into is when all the services are being hit at
once. dusk.org serves quite a few web pages (most of them not related
to the mud), in addition to offering the mud webpages (including complete
help files), ftp service, email, and the mud itself. In addition, there's
usually four or five people ssh'd in at a time, reading mail in pine (or
in my case, using vi to tinker with the mud). Ssh is not terribly
bandwidth-friendly.
So far it's holding up fine, but I suspect if there were to be a stampede
of hits to all services (ssh, web, and the mud) that the thing may go
to its knees. Hasn't happened yet, at least that I have been around for.
