unencumbering what's left of the Murkle source base (some bits are a
little too tightly related to things I've used at various clients)

What I'm really looking for is something close to (I think) a demo I
saw at Intel, which used a lo-res 3D rendered mesh world (really
just a surface contour map), with coloured semi-spherical slightly
amorphous "blob" characters that wandered that world. Think of
something like Tron done with a guache-like colouring set populated
with half-melted M&Ms for player characters...
