Yes, they did, but that doesn't really mean much. Several scientists have
argued that the earth is flat. Plato is obviously interesting in terms of
the history of philosophy, but his work isn't any more relevant today than
Aristotle's work in the sciences is. Plato has been very influential, but
modern philosophy started with Descartes. (some would argue Bacon, but I
think they're smoking crack.)
