The fact that there is a measurement does not automatically imply
that there is competition. Killers do perhaps 'win' by dominating
other players, but that does not mean they make a competition out of
it to see who is the best. Similarly, socialisers may develop a
network of people they play the game with, but that is not for
competition but to make the game more enjoyable to them. In fact, I
would guess that the majority of players, even if they are max-
imising their favourite measurement are doing so for their own
purpose that has nothing to do with other players.
