I think that is true, to a point. I used to get sick after 30
minutes of playing EQ. Couldn't get myself around Qeynos, no matter
what perspective I used. I had to log and have a friend get me out.
For a long time I would give my partner the loot, and he would
bank/sell inside Qeynos while I waited out in the newbie area.
I play EQ in "ass-cam" mode most of the time, which works fairly
well for me -- although even that took some getting used to.
Anyway, ass-cam gives me the Fixed Point (usually, most of the
time), which is extremely important for me not to get sick.
EQ has a bad ass-cam though. The reason that EQ's ass-cam is bad is
that the camera bumps into walls and screws up my fixed point which,
unless there is another reason I'm not seeing, is the whole point of
having ass-cam in the first place. :P All the zooming in-and-out
when the camera bumps into things is worse to me than being in first
person.
Raph had a fancy word for this -- occlusion or something.

Well, they can give other perspectives that don't make people
sick... they just have to figure out how to do it *right.* :)
