By request the Four Crystals of Trazere magic system.
Runes:
There are 16 runes you start with 3, the rest must be found
during the game
Directors:
Forward - effects the tile ahead
Surround - effects the 8 tiles around the caster
Missile - effects are aimed at a particular location. If
missile is the first component you need to aim it, if it's not
first it will just shoot in a straight line.
Continuous - effects continue until dispelled or the party
leaves the rooms. Effects "recast" every 4 seconds.
Effectors:
Damage
Heal
Dispel - stops continuous or removes magical protections
Speed
Paralize
Antimagic - protects from magic
Thrall(charm)
Make Weapon
Teleport - gives ability to teleport
Regeneration
Disrupt - death spell
Vivify - raise dead
Reagents:
There are 8 reagents, each rune needs one. eg Missile uses wing
of Bat.
Wing of Bat
Brimstone
Mandrake
Crystal
Dragon Tooth
Hedghog Venom
Nightshade
Phoenix Claw
Rules:
1 forward, surround and surround, forward are not permissable
unless separated by missile.
2 No more than 2 missile in any spell
3 The sequence surround, missile, continuous is not allowed even
if padded by other runes.
Sample complex spell:
heal, anitmagic, surround, paralize, continuous, damage, missile,
damage Effects
Heals the caster, makes the caster immune to magic, anything in
the 8 squares around the caster are paralized, every 4 seconds
those 8 squares will be hit by damage (starting instantly) and
they will shoot out missiles in all 8 directions, directly away
from the casters location, which will damage anything they hit.
Notes:
I dont think there is a limit on how complex a spell can be
outside the 3 rules.
But each director or effector used a reagent, and some (such as
vivify and continuous) were much more expensive than others (such
as forward).
