[MUD-Dev] Gamespy - Mod Support in the Game World

Gamespy has published an article about the future of Mods

The article is fairly long and covers the birth of Mods in the
First-Person Shooter world along with the current Mod support and
some speculation on the future of Mods.  "Mods" refers to the
ability to modify a game usually with a toolset so that you can
create your own levels, models, and script behaviors.

Of particular interest is the reference to Neverwinter Nights and
that it was developed from the start to be a Mod community product.

The article also mentioned machinima and the fact that it is well on
the way of becoming a serious tool for digital filmmaking.
