A lot of players do so already, via 3rd party communication software
like Roger Wilco. It isn't perfect, but as the technology is
refined and broadband becomes more commonplace I believe it is
exactly what is going to happen. Furthermore, I would love to see
the addition of voice modulators as well, allowing players to create
special effects for their voices, thus making them more unique. Many
players treasure the privacy of their various alternate characters,
so a way to differentiate them would be a blessing. Not to mention
the ability to RP a character of a specific race.
