As the loudmouth in question, my only defense is that I was an
opinionated fan long before I was employed in the industry.  But
there was a little more to the story than that.

Conspiracies are so much more fun than reality.  It's all long in
the past, but I think your memory of those E3 reports may be a
little off.

Anyway, nobody seems to ever consider the obvious possibility: That
we actually needed someone with Scott's skills, at the same time
that Scott was laid off and needed a job.  We *knew* about Scott
because of the site, but it was actually a barrier rather than an
incentive to his employment (Lum the Mad had enemies as well as
fans).

Anyway, I know he (as well as most of the other ex-lummites) reads
this list, so I'll leave any further explanation to them, if they
think it's needed.
