Exposure to wine cooler advertisements seems to have left many
people with the impression that my surname "must" be Bartles. It's
not; it's Bartle. The reason Jon Leonard wrote "Bartles" is, I
assume, because he couldn't be faffed to put in an apostrophe in the
phrase "Dr Bartle's statement".
