While I can't think of a good strategic use of an emote, having a "need
ammo" emote that has an animation, a chat message, an area voice
message, has localization and places a waypoint on the map is a
wonderful tactical advantage that several thousand action players that I
am in league with enjoy quite immensely.
Let's not pigeon hole emotes as something socializers like better than
killers, as you say, that may be just context.
