Personally I quite like the fact that stuff turns up in my mailbox - reminds
me to participate now and then (or at least to read everything) - no reason
why I couldn't get email alerts from a forum system, though.

It also occurs to my mind that it wouldn't be too hard to automagically
parse forum posts into the fledgling wiki which started up a while ago (also
reminds me I must go back and write some more)!
