Google groups could be a good choice.
Is a standard mailing list with web interface for who like forum like
web access.
>From the web you can read/write and there's a file and web page repository just in case there's need to store files or web pages. (up to 100mb)
>From a mailing list point of view, is the usual mailing list and messages can be received on thread subscription, one message for every new message or just summaries of daily actvity.
In addition now there's a special feature that let google groups to be
populated from an external source/mailing list. I hadn't played with
such feature but is there if needed.
Obviuosly new messages can be moderated/unoderated and mailing can be
open or closed whatever the needs are. And being inside google servers,
searching old messages shouldn't be a great problem :)
For the mud-dev.com domain.... Now google offer services that can be
attached to domain (ex: gmail with your domain mail). Don't know if
something similar is avaible when creating a mailing list.
