If you have an "in" with the organizers then I'd also recommend:
- A contest for the most cliche (fictional) MMORPG name, such as "chaos
blood-wars online!". Attendees can write their fictional MMORPG's name on a
card, with the top-10 being voted for by applause at the end of the
conference. The winner gets a t-shirt of something.
- A contest for the most cliche/funny (fictional) MMORPG backstory.
- An award for the (real) MMORPG with the biggest sword/gun... the one that
would be most physically impossible to wield.
- An award for the (real) MMORPG with the most interesting chainmail bikini.
My current vote would go to the title screenshot here:
http://www.kaoswar.com/forums/
- An award for the (real) MMORPG that's trying to render authentic medieval
architecture, but whose architecture is physically impossible... such as
portcullises whose tops disappear when raised (or perhaps they're segmented
like garage doors).
- An award for a (real) MMORPG that is unknowingly/unintentionally a parody
of MMORPGs.
... I suppose all these are like the purple-prose and worst
starting-sentence contests for novelists.
