In FUDforum you can opt to turn on/off URL sessions. It also has the
possibility to control image posting on a forum level, as well as on a group
level. FUDforum is also significantly faster than vB and iPB and drains alot
less bandwidth. What I like the most about FUD is the absolute control I
have over the usergroups. I lacked some feature a few years ago or something
and the simple sollution was that I contacted the creator of the forum and
he added the feature.
Now, don't get me wrong, I am not a fanboy of FUD, I really like iPB, but it
costs a bit of money and is alot more draining on the server, I really
prefer the close and personal support I have gotten through FUD combined
with the higher security, cleaner code and better control over user/forum
groups.
Whatever you do, stay away from phpBB and it's offsprings since to my
knowledge, it is very insecure. Also add the fact that it is a very common
software, there are literally hundreds of different spam robots and the
likes designed to hit that forum software. As I said earlier, I have over 10
years of community managing behind me, so if you have any specific
questions, just toss em out and I will try to answer them as good as I can,
but it is a little hard to just randomly ramble on about things, so I would
need more specific features that you need.
