Um... yeah.
Bias cuts both ways. Sometimes the common wisdom is common because
it's true. In this case, the common wisdom is that you CAN'T predict
the Next Big Thing, and being the common wisdom doesn't make it
inherently flawed. The common wisdom does include a grey area where we
accept unproven ideas as the best available hypotheses, but it also
includes a big stark white field of things that are actually true.
