... "not much" ? At least, not much compared to what they're doing
anyway - if the downtime is short, there's some bitching from the
usual suspects, but most just shrug and accept it. If it's repeated
and random, and enough to send people crawling up the walls, you get a
lot of hassle - but no different from when you fail to shut down an
exploit and it goes rampant, or let an employee get away with giving
away hugely valuable in-game items to his guild mates, etc.

And ... how different is it, really, from the emergency maintenance
downtimes, from the players' perspective? If you want to play at a
given time, and can't ...
