Definitely.  Spoken "sigh" was not uncommon around MIT in the early
80's, and it had nothing to do with computer communication.  Of course,
being true geeks, it was sometimes altered to "Sigh squared", or "Sigh
star", (the latter a reference to quantum physics).  I think it's more
of a geek thing than a mud thing.
