[DGD]Seeking Core Coder

My partner and I have been working together over the
past few months on a new MUD world. We're starting to
need more extensive programming done, and have decided
to try to recruit one or two more coders to help us.
If you're at all interested in perhaps working on a
new type of project, please read further.

We are working to build a custom lib, the foundation
of which is already written. While security and other
similar sytems are in place, we haven't yet put in any
of the major game mechanics -- combat, environments,
spells, etc. Much of the design for these mechanics
is done, written up, and awaiting implementation.

I'm an author who spent too much time playing MUDs
when he was younger, so much so that I now want to
create my own. I've played every type of MUD around,
in every genre, with every design, with every kind of
playerbase. I know them inside out, what works, what
doesn't, how to run things, how not to run things. My
head is cluttered up with about ten million random
game design ideas. I know programming well, and do
some minor coding on the side. Mainly I serve as the
chief designer and lead world builder, writing the
design docs and thinking up new things for the MUD.

My partner is an extremely knowledgeable and
profressional programmer, one great type of guy to
work with. I can't think of any one person I'd rather
have programming the MUD in his place. He's able to
do just about anything we dream up. He's also built
our custom lib up to this point, having written it
from scratch.

We're at a stage where the workload is too great for
any one person, however talented and with however much
time available, to manage. We've got so much planned
for the next few months that it's a bit overwhelming.
So that's why we're looking to bring on one or two
more core coders to assist in the project.

We're looking for people with a solid understanding of
LPC and LPMUDs. Anyone interested should be able to
implement any reasonable game system, given a
comprehensive design document describing the system
and its workings in detail. No minimum hours are
required, though obviously you'll need to make some
sort of commitment to us time-wise.

Our design, unrivaled anyplace I've seen, stretches
the limit of what people think MUDs can be. We have
planned the most amazing things. Whether or not we
can move these things from a plan, and turn them into
reality, is yet to be seen. With a few more people
like those we have already, it would be very hard to
fail. Hopefully some such people are reading this and
are interested. ;)

So anyone interested in working with us, on this new
project, please send me an email. Should there be any
other questions, comments, or concerns, please write
me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Regards,

Matt
