[DGD]DGD status

DGD is becoming stable again.  When not using atomic functions,
stability is comparable to 1.1.75 or 1.1.96.  Care should still be
taken with atomic functions, but these too are becoming usable.
I have placed the current sources on the ftp site:

    ftp://ftp.dworkin.nl/pub/dgd/dgd-1.1.116.tar.gz

On the other hand, I am running into trouble with the extension
interface.  With the massive changes foreseen for DGD 1.3, I cannot
guarantee that the interface remains the same for networking and
swapping -- to tell the truth, I can pretty much guarantee the
opposite.  This defeats the entire purpose of the extension
interface, which I am therefore restricting to kernel functions and
special objects, only.

For the next few months, I am going to concentrate on fixing bugs
and documenting the kernel library.  Other than the slimmed-down
extension interface, I will not add any new features to DGD before
the next stable release, which will be on December 20th, 2000.
