Set it to whatever is appropriate for the size of your mud, or to 65535
if you don't want to worry about it for a few years and do not mind if
your process takes up 128K more memory.

These concerns may seem ridiculous now, but one of the original design
criteria for DGD was that you should be able to run a mud on a computer
with 1 megabyte of memory.
