[DGD] Mexican Characters

When in a Mud i type the n-tilde character in a Unix-like terminal i 
get a "q" as output,
It's something of the telnet protocol that uses DGD??
I check if it's a font problem and it's not, i telnet to a Mexican BBS 
and i can use it,
i use the same Terminal for both BBS and Mud and in the Mud i can't use 
it, so i thing
that's problem of DGD, it's a way to fix that??
