[DGD] Problems when not on localhost

from Windows boxes at work and from a friend's DSL-connected FreeBSD box.

  Nope.  Maybe at work, but that shouldn't affect outbound
connections.  No firewall inbound.

  Shouldn't be, and I think they'd tell me if they'd suddenly
started.  ISP is Pacific Bell.
