[DGD] [mildly off-topic] DGD doc site sprucing up, call for opinions

I've been figuring out how to add some standard web
bits like a navigation bar to my pages, and to bring
it up-to-date with more recent web standards like CSS
and XHTML.

I have a prototype version of the Phantasmal first
page at "http://phantasmal.sf.net/strictpage.html"
which obeys the XHTML-1.0 strict DTD, has little
navbar thingies on the side and links to the XHTML
verifier at the bottom. Anybody with an interest in
the aesthetics of the site, or what links are
provided, should have a look. Reply to me directly or
to the Phantasmal SourceForge Developer forum at
"http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=159973"
-- I'm not sure this is really on topic for the DGD
list.

Good things to suggest include more internal or
external links to useful content, especially content
that already exists. Advice about colors or design
are welcome. I'm not much of an artist, so requests
for nontrivial graphics will probably be met with the
reply "only if you can provide them, and do so
legally".

The idea is that the sidebars would contain links
which would vary by directory -- each directory would
get a template of links and things, so the Phantasmal
site would have one set, the DGD section another set,
the Kernel Library section another set, and there
might be one or two more as well. However, the look
and feel would be the same, only some of the links in
the bar would differ.

I'm aware this is still far from the subdued and
pleasing look of Amazon or Yahoo. It's also far less
dynamic, and obviously lacks a good graphical
designer. To the extent your advice can improve my
design, I'm grateful. Thank you.
