[DGD] gethostbyname: No such file or directory

I've just compiled the DGD 1.2p3, and when starting it up I recieve this
error:
gethostbyname: No such file or directory

I'm working on a Gentoo 1.4 with kernel 2.4.22 kernel, and i've already
looked into the gethostbyname errors on google and gentoo forums etc..
But I can't seem to find anything about how to solve this and be able to
compile so this doesn't happen..

Anybody around who had thesame issue and got it fixed?  tnx in advance
