All right, and I apologize for having a chuckle at the expense of WoW's
server naming policy. :)
To clarify the other things I wrote, I didn't mean to pour scorn upon
Blizzard's enormous competence as a game developer's powerhouse.
WoW has redefined the market in such a way that in 10 years, people
will think that Blizzard invented it. What I was remarking upon is
that they didn't advance the state of the art in a way that would make
game developers look at DGD/MP as the obvious first step towards making
a WoW clone, though of course it could be used in that manner; rather,
WoW leads the way towards more shards and clusters.
