[DGD] DGD 1.2.109 + Phantasmal 0.016

I'm a new user of DGD and Phantasmal, and I'm having trouble getting
the driver up and running with Phantasmal.

I'm using DGD 1.2.109 (using the 1.2.105 tarball, patched up to 1.2.109)
and Phantasmal 0.016. I realize that the tested versions of that Phantasmal
release are 1.2.90 - 1.2.93. If I need to, I suppose I can always use the
1.2.105 tarball and reverse-patch back to 1.2.93, but I was hoping there
was some cleaner solution to my problem, which is as follows:

The driver starts fine, but when I attempt to log in via telnet, the
connection closes as soon as it opens. The reason why is in System.log,
which in its entirety reads as follows:

DGD runs properly with just the Kernel mudlib (I can log in, execute
commands, etc.), so this is apparently Phantasmal-specific. I have
double-checked that I have correctly copied DGD files to the Phantasmal
directories as appropriate.

Anyone know how to fix this?
