I'm thinking a system where you just say that shops in this and this
area sell this and this much of this and this type of goods to its
non-player clientele would be a lot more simple to implement and to
oversee and to tune, while still accomplishing pretty much the same
thing for your game design.
Of course, it is not as cool, nor the challenge I suppose you are
looking for. I personally tend to shy away from challenges if I can.
