[DGD] Windows telnet clients

I've had two friends of mine try to connect to my mud with windows
machines, and neither of them got past my login screen.

My I/O logs show that half the time nothing at all is being sent, and
half the time I get either gibberish or completely blank lines.

Naturally, using telnet on linux works flawlessly.

Both putty and windows standard telnet have failed to send anything
but garbage.  I even tested putty on wine and got the same results.

A couple of questions:

1.  Why do windows telnet clients suck so bad?

2.  Is there a good one for windows?
