[DGD] Kernel library, Version 1.6.1: Support for datagram connections

Following recent API changes in DGD for support of datagram
connections, version 1.6.1 of the kernel library now provides support
for this.

Please see the commit log and updated documentation for more information.

Relatedly, due to the current flux with the networking api, the
networking branch of the kernel library will no longer be maintained.
