I'm a member of most of them, as well as the ones gained by searching
for MOO, MUSH, MUCK etc.  "Dead" is probably best characterisation of
them as a class.  Our traffic in a week out numbers most of their
outputs for last year.  (MooCows and rare exceptions to the side).

I mostly use them for member recruitment.
