There you are JC Lawrence, and Nathan, and who the heck ever else is on
this list! Found you!
Greetings, friends and all,
I am Jay Sax, aka Cimri, and I have just accepted Nathan Yospe's invite
to this list. I have been, ah, away from the entire r.g.m.* usenet
tree for some time, and indeed muds and mud development in general,
due to certain problems at home, now hopefully resolved by my finding
a new home, alone, in a far away place, and starting over!
Anyway, some of you may remember my brief (perhaps a few months) attempt
at starting up a small discussion group on developing a mud
driver/engine/whatever that could be used commercially, without the
usual non-commercial use license restrictions.
I am fascinated by the whole realm of mudding, have played extensively,
and have just now reached my 20th year in computing, having done every
thing from coding to systems programming to performance tuning seminars
and creating and running international training organizations. I am
quite interested in making fun, interesting, elegant, efficient, etc
muds/on-line rpgs, etc, and am fairly capable of discussing these
matters at pretty much any level.
I am situated now in Seattle and am putting up a web site which will do
mud reviews cuz it looks like that would be useful.
Okay, Nathan, I hope that's enough! Nathan, you see, suggested that I
introduce myself. Hello all, and best to you,
Jay // Cimri
